What Can I Say?

I'm nearly speechless! Not something which happens often.
On Nov. 18th I called CS and placed an order for a DIY PowerPro upgrade kit. Just wanted to do my part in making sure Shopmith stays in business. Got the normal warning that there could be a 2 to 4 week delay in shipment. Can you guess where this is headed yet?
And BINGO - checked the order status this morning and my PowerPro upgrade HAS SHIPPED! FedEx web site says delivery is scheduled for Saturday - guess I'll be watching a DVD this weekend.
I'm happy as an old woodworker with a new pickup full of rough cut walnut.

That's great Leonard!
Turkey sandwiches, a nice warm fire and a SS DVD.
Sounds like a plan!

Hi Bob,
I've seen FedEx trucks in the neighborhood on Saturdays so I believe they do. But I've not received any packages from them on Saturday myself.
I just go with the information on the FedEx web site. If they don't deliver on Saturdays I wouldn't expect them to show that they do on the tracking pages.
In any event I got a call from Shopsmith so I know it's on the way. That will keep me happy until it arrives.

:D

Something happened - but I don't know what.
FedEx now says my PowerPro kit will arrive on the 30th.
But I'm still a thankful camper! Thankful this Thanksgiving Day for this great country and all who wear the uniform as I proudly did for 23 years. With all her faults this is still the greatest country in the world.
A short story:
Last Tuesday my wife and I attended Grandparents Day at our oldest daughters kid's school - a private Christian school. Each grade class gave a presentation (small school - maybe 200 students total). Each was well done. But the hands down winner was the 4th grade class. They recited the Declaration of Independence from memory - THE WHOLE THING!!!
It brought a tear to the eyes of this old sentimental guy. It says there are still folks who value the principles upon which this country was founded and SOME of the kids in this country are learning about them in school.
So be thankful for the gifts God gave this land and for the people trying to keep alive the innate goodness and can-do spirit of the American culture. We all have so much to be thankful for - even in these times when things seem to be going in the wrong direction.
I hope your Thanksgiving Day celebrations with family and friends leave you all with fond memories to savor over the coming years.

Update:
FedEx wasn't quite right. My PowerPro upgrade kit arrived yesterday!
Now all I have to do is find time to watch the DVD, read the instructions (TWICE as Shopsmith recommends) and install it.

This will interfere with my upper shop cabinets project but... So what? I'll still be spending time in my "Happy House" as my bride calls it. What could be better? Not much.
I'll report on progress and hopefully have some pictures soon.
