Table Saw Safety and Government

Post by riot_nrrd »

All,

If you are unaware, the Consumer Product Safety Commission is proposing to develop a rule on table saw safety. The rule would apply to all table saws sold in the US, and woudl require some new safety components. The effort is being strongly encouraged/lobbied by SawStop, so that should give you a hint about what kind of satefy components they would be considering.

CPSC just extended the comment period on their proposal, so I would encourage you all to review and submit comments. Here is a link to a discussion thread I started that explains how to comment.
