 Here it is a couple weeks after upgrading to the PowerPro and dual tilt upgrades, and I just got an offer of $189 off if I ordered them now. You'd think they could have told me there'd be a special if I was willing to wait a bit. In the future I'll never order anything from SS until it goes on sale.

I had the same experience with the kreg bandsaw fence. i got denied, even though it was only ~2 weeks after the order and i had an OPR on back order with no end in sight. was not thrilled at all :(

Sorry guys but the fuzzy thinking here is just wrong. Sure, ask them and if they give you the reduction thank them, but to expect it is totally out of sync with how business basically works.
A sale usually starts on a given date determined ahead of time and it usually stops on a given date determined ahead of time. The seller is under no obligation either by law or even by strong ethical standards to honor the sale price at any other time just because you would like it to work that way.
The company (no matter who it is) is under no obligation to save you money or tell you ahead of time about special price sales. A special price sale is not ran to save you money it is ran to increase sales for the company. Their responsibility is to the company and the name of the game is to maximize profits for the company. That is quite simply how business works...

I agree (although it is frustrating when it happens to me).

I've tracked these offers since I've joined the forum. There is a definite pattern to when they'r being offered. If you do the same, you will notice that as well. My advice would be to do the same before making a purchase. I will say that if an item is backordered and then comes on sale before it is shipped, it should be given the sale price. I waited on a couple of planer upgrades which were on backorder until the time they went on sale and I paid the original price. I thought about contacting the company for a price adjustment, but decided against it. Such is life.

I have to agree with Robinson46716. You can't expect a shop/manufacturer/retailer etc to reimburse everyone when something goes on sale, That is just not how things are supposed to work if you want to stay in business.
Ummm I'm sorry we had that on sale last month, let me adjust the price for you.
OR, I'm sorry we may put that on sale someday, let's just give you a preemptive discount now.
Good Grief, no wonder our economy is dead. THANKS WALMART!

Yep! It is the way the ball bounces, makes me slap my forehead every time this happens. Believe me -- It has happened to me many times! Sometimes I've even waited on something, only to break down and order it a couple of weeks before a sale.:( Another slap on my forehead - Ouch!!!!
