sure looks like an old Millers Falls or Great Neck adjustable miterbox.
I had one when I was kid in the 60s, one of the first tools my dad ever bought for me.
I used the hell outta that thing until it "left" the back of my truck one time, many years later.

Ah so! I see the 'back opening' now! The square frame is the saw support.

Believe the seller should have done a little more market research before pricing that.

Too bad it's in Petaluma. That's too far for me to pick up. It's not like I have the cash anyways but....

All I would want it for is the 510 upgrade. But like terrydowning said, Petaluma just a tad too far from Joshua Tree.
I just got back from the bay area last week.
