Sir I hope you don't mind that I noticed tonight you have 9996 posts here on the forum. At a modest 8.95 PPDA (post per day average), I figure tomorrow or "today" you will hit 10,000 posts .
You are either Extremely Helpful, or not busy. I've have found you both. Thanks for all your help and try and hit 20,000.

OMG! Don't encourage him. He does enough short one liners (like this one) now.

Let's just say he's "prolific" (although I'm sure other words come to mind.)

Actually, JPG, you've been a great help to me, dang sure know your machines, and have interesting opinions. I hope you post a million!

I am still waiting for the invite from SS that MickyD said I would get to tour the ss 'facility for hitting the 1K mark!:D I think a M7 would be a more fitting 'reward' for exceeding that by an order of magnitude!

Yes Dusty there have been far too many 'one line zingers', but there have also been many quite lengthy and well thought out(hopefully) posts as well. Many of those required significant time to create(research in the shop required to verify foggy memory).

I have been accused of having less than complimentary objectives at times, but my intentions(when being serious) were always to help others. I have acquired a considerable amount of knowledge of these machines we all admire(much of it acquired right here on this forum), and do consider it an obligation to share it with those who indicate a need for it! If I have been too direct in my 'preventing well intentioned but mis-guided information from being propagated', I can only say that doing so is merely to keep the facts straight, and in no way meant as a criticism of any individual who might be 'being corrected'. Lord knows I mis-speak at times as well.

Yes I spend way too much time here. Especially the past year. I have needed to stay close by to SHMBO since her Roux-n-Y gastric bypass surgery last Feb. At 74 she was a high risk patient. She was not very 'mobile' before the surgery, and that has deteriorated progressively during the past year. She has been battling getting her protein level up to snuff. Last month it was < 5. Target is close to 40. All this in spite of having a feeding tube and forcing nutrients and protein shots. Fortunately last month seems to have provided what appears to be a turnaround. Hopefully that will continue.

Actual shop time has suffered as well since I cannot always hear her call from there(never when machinery is running).

Sorry to be rambling about myself here, but the 'occasion' is appropriate!

I just hope I have been helpful to others as I have been helped.

10000! Keep it up JPG. You are a great resource and especially when we are in your areas of expertise, the drive train, headstock in general etc. Best wishes to your upper management as well.

Red, As one of the newbs here, I gotta say congrats, and THANKS for all of the help, online and off. I appreciate you always being ready with an answer or a direction to head in to find one.

And thank you for sharing your SS knowledge, and your probing questions that when answered, make many posts more understandable.

Red you are man to be admired. You often offer sage advice which saves many a project and I suspect numerous dollars for those working to better their equipment and I value your knowledge of both woodworking and the need to be mechanically adept. Most important in my mind is your constant support to the woman you have spent a lifetime with. I pray for both of you. Keep up the good works. Jim
