new member/owner needs band saw help

I have recently purchased a used mark v set up with a magna band saw. Went to use the band saw And the blade would turn sideways as soon as I touched wood to it. Tried replacing the blade, same result. I'm new to this hobby/tool And would greatly appreciate some help. The blade seems to be riding on the front of the wheels off of the guide bearings. What am I missing?

Thanks.kc

Is the blade tightened appropriately for it's width? Are the guide blocks or wheels adjusted to "nearly touching" the blade?
Now, this may seem a dumb question, but it has happened to me....Is the blade installed with the teeth down on the cutting side?

Casey,
A couple of suggestions.
Get the manual and make sure the saw is correctly set up. This goes way beyond just hooking it up to the headstock. Make sure you understand how to use the tensioner and how to set the guide blocks to the blade. Then, spend some time reading past threads on the bandsaw here on this forum using the search function.
Next, if you're still having trouble, take pictures and ask questions here. I guarantee these guys will have the answer.
Welcome to the forum!
