As a UK owner I am frustrated by the lack of choice of 1¼" bore saw blades I understand that someone in the UK manufactures a saw arbour that will take 30mm bore saw blades does anyone know who this is? (I understand that his first name is Phil but thats not much to go on)

I understand the frustration but have you thought about using 5/8" arbors as the solution.

You could also have blades rebored to whatever arbor size is most available locally.

Sorry I cannot be of more assistance. Good luck.

No more that then the lack of 1 1/4" bore saw blades in the US, where as far as I know they are only available from Shopsmith.

You can buy new Forrest blades with a 1 1/4" bore from Forrest. They will also rebore for you.

I just buy the standard 5/8" saw blades and forget that I even own the 1.25" arbor.

Other than 30mm, what sizes are available in the UK?

Ya could lightly file down a 1 1/8" arbor(keeping it round, centered, etc.) the less that .030" to make it fit a 30mm blade.
