I was You-tubing steaming wood last night. pretty cool if you've never looked at it. Simple to do and make. Does anyone do any steaming here? and if so, show us your set up please.
Also found some videos of making windsor chairs by
Douchette and Wolfe http://www.doucetteandwolfefurniture.com/Home_Page.html Which led to looking at all their videos and website. Unbelievable!

What a wonderful way of life and incredible workmanship.
I didn't realize there was a Vermont "school" of furnature and woodworking to teach all these skills. How many schools are out there like that? Have any of you ever been to one?

Not really steaming but it's an easy project.

You mean like this? I'm the guy in the plaid shirt and gumboots. Was the guy actually, these were taken at my shipyard in about 1981.

Yes, the building is an old WW II Seaplane hangar. After the war it served for many years as a whaling station. The timbers are massive.

This "may" be on a slightly larger scale than I was envisioning...do ya have any more pics of the process? You must be a champion steamer by the way.

I have lots of pictures of the work in progress but very few with people working in them. I ran basically a one "man with a helper or two" operation so any time there was work being done, I was unavailable to take pictures.
Over a period of time I posted a 23 part blog on Lumberjocks called "Shipyard Memories" that detailed a lot of my old projects. If you're interested in seeing more boat building photos the blog is
here.
Thanks for the comment.

That water craft is absolutely beautiful. Great story and documentation of the other boats.
