Incra Ultimate Fence/Router System Package

I bought a Mark V 510 on Sat that had a Mark V planer, a jointer, and a TS-III saw fence. Shopsmith wants $970.10 for their Ultimate Fence/Router System Update package. I found out for about $250, I can get direct from Incra a Wonder Fence upgrade which includes the Wonder Fence, the Shop Stop, the Right Angle Fixture, The giant reference guide & plastic templates, and a dovetailing video. The only thing missing would be the Shopsmith Router table p/n 555995 which goes for $270.60.

I would want the mod to my table saw TS-III. Shopsmith really marks up these items. Incra wants $250 for what Shopsmith wants almost $400 for, but I'd still need a table. I have a stand-alone overhead pin router table, but I'd want a table I could use in my 520 as I don't plan on talking the Incra TS-III off of even though it's not all that had. I have too many Shopsmiths and this summer, I'll lay my wood shop out. I plan to use a restored 10ER which will be modified with a 3/8 threaded rod as a Z-axis control to raise it up & down. A hydraulic jack just doesn't seem right.

Do any of you have the Shopsmith router table p/n 555995? If you do, what are the dimensions of the table? I want to make one with 520 brackets. I imagine it is the size of the of the other tables that the tubes go through. I'll just need the 520 rail assemblies.

Incra produced 3 dove tail You tube videos. I'm hooked. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=djyZvLHq ... =endscreen

Thanks Stuck! I just put the "winning bid" in.

I don't really need this but I want it. Besides, I can get it here without telling anyone until she asks what it is in the monthly credit card statement.

I love Pay-Pal. I get yelled at maybe but she'll go buy pencils or oils or something from the art store and all will be forgiven. My last Shopsmith purchase cost an extra $120 for art paper and a canvas.

Frames for the canvas come from the garage - free (she thinks).

Dusty, Wow she sure lets you off easy. The last time I tried that it cost me several Thousand for a new quilting machine. I checked it out and the current high bid is a bargain. No I do not need it and promise not to bid you up. Jim

Dusty,
I won't bid against you. I've see a lot of these on Craig's List. I already has a TS-III from the latest 510 I bought last Sat to upgrade. I learned Incra has a mod kit and I might have a source who can get it lower than the Incra web site upgrade price, so I'm waiting to hear back.

There is a woodworkers show on Feb 24th in Somerset, NJ. I'm wondering if there will be any deals to be had? I don't see Shopsmith as a vender. But http://www.insighttoolworks.com who makes the True Trac will be there. Dick is one of the owners who worked at Shopsmith for 20 years. If you go to their website you can watch Dick's son demonstrate the True Track in the Shopsmith studio. I thought I saw a Mark 7 in the background of the video & learned it was because Shopsmith let him use the Shopsmith studio. Shopsmith sells the True Track on sale from $299 to $269 right now. But there is a place that you can find it for $249 and that includes one or 2 day shipping! I believe I mentioned the other web site once on the forum, but I would like to see Shopsmith stay in business. But most people know where the deals are to be had.

I'm wondering if other venders will offer a show price for their wares. I've never been to a wood workers show. I do know that someone in Tampa is selling all their Lie-Neilsen hand planes for $100 a piece this past week. I tried one of those planes on Saturday & all I can saw is wow! I've got to get one. If I win a lottery, I'll have make to sure to have a few. ;)

There is a guy in Yuma who was selling a similar Incra set up & wanted $70 to ship it to NJ. But that was through one of those pack & ship places. I spoke with Incra & they said $25-30 would be reasonable for shipping. He was supposed to get back to me & I had to stop holding my breath... Good luck on your bid.

Hi,

It is nice to see interest in Incra products.

I don't want to blow anyone's happy bubble but you might want to check the vintage of product of used equipment and then see what upgrades you might want and what retro fits you will need to get to what you really want to be.

Just because it says Incra doesn't mean it is the Incra you want. Good news is you can upgrade, but that can be costly. It is also true that some functions were redesigned due to problems with the old design. Other changes will be required to let you do certain other upgrades.

I own more then a few dollars of Incra tools, and yes I like them. But I have also paid the price on upgrades to keep them reasonable current.

Before you throw money please take a little time at the Incra site. Once you figure out what you want to end up with then figure out how to get there. It might be a daunting task but in all likely hood it is the only way to go.
