Hi,

If you are interested in this system here is one deal going on that might help you out. Between 1/1/2012 and 2/29/2012 Kreg is offering a $15 mail-in rebate.

This is how I did my deal. My Rockler catalog has a 20% off that is good for one item and ends 2/25/2012. Catalog price $139.99 - 20% = $111.20. S&H = $13.99 + local tax (IL) $7.82= $133.01. After refund $118.01 plus stamp/envelope (est $.49) = $118.50.

So that is the deal.

This was not posted in the review category so I'm not doing a review. I'm also not going to try to convince anyone to buy one. I'm adding more information by way of how I got to a point that I ordered this system see below.

I personally like the pocket hole system and have had one for quite a while. I started with having to purchase a jig, drill bit and screwdriver bit as parts. I do not recall the year or how much the pieces cost. Needless to say I was not sold on pocket holes at that time and wished to test it out.

I had a few start up problems, I was forced to read the directions which seem like I should not have had to do but it cleared up the fact I was not clamping things well enough and that resulted in twisting and misalignment. Having cleared that up I started doing a lot more joints with pocket holes. In fact enough that I wanted a different system. This time it was a kit as seen here.

This is the system I have used the most. It still goes slow with the adjustments and clamping you have to do. I did a project (I think it was about 2 years ago) that uses a lot of pocket holes and I did only one out of dozen I had planned to do. Hope to get back to that this year so I figured I'd save time and effort with a newer system. The jig and a couple clamps were in the budget and with the sale and rebate I figured this was the time. This last picture shows what is in the new kit.

Now if you think you might be interested in this you will need to get on it as the time frame is getting short. I will answer questions if need be but I'm not going to debate pocket holes verses blah blah blah.
