Someone should have engaged their brain before pushing the start button.

Where was the supervision? Why'd the idiot have his foot up there to begin with? Darwin rules. Hopefully these idiots won't live long enough to breed.

These are mostly the ones having children drawing taxpayer support and dependency because they aren't capable of taking care of themselves or their children. Contraceptives or sterilization should be required for these incompetents and uninsured.

A great example of why you should never play around in the shop. Plus, there is the stupidity of youth to also be considered. But, I'm sure we were all there at once.

I have long said that if everybody who ever did something stupid in their life were suddenly vaporized off of the planet that there wouldn't be anybody left to turn off the lights. :)

First time is ignorance. Second time is stupid!

I could not figger out why he had his foot up there. It would not help him turn the chuck wrench.

Then I noticed the white shirted arm turning it on! Apparently the objective was to remove the check(threaded on to the arbor) by preventing it from turning with the jaw wrench and let the lathe turn it's self off.

Gotta wonder what they would have done with the chuck acting like a loose bouncing basketball?

Those look like high school kids. How many incidents like that are responsible for high school shop classes shutting down. I wonder if the kid and/or his parents end up suing the school...

There was recently a story in the news about a young lady (university student) working at a metal lathe at night ALONE. Her long hair got caught in the lathe and strangled her.
