Heres a pic of the Mark VII Cams that I had made. They are aluminum and have a black anodized finish.

I tested one out today and it works great (just like the original one). I was so excited I first installed it backwards. Lol
It will be nice knowing it wont melt.

They do look great HD. I will be in touch soon. My only concern would be that people understand the reason why they melted in the first place and to make sure they keep an eye on their bearings and maintenance schedule on the Mark VII and Mark V's for that matter. Lack of proper care will kill any machine in a short period of time. But in the inevitable occurrence of someone neglecting that maintenance it is nice to know that the most important part inside the Mark VII will not self destruct due to excessively high temps.

Okay, now i can feel comfortable looking for a Mark 7?
They look fantastic! by the way. I love it when folks make solutions for long suffering problems like this. It's the American way.
So, will they be readily available through you in the future? Are you going to start selling them on the Ebay or Amazon?
I would if I were you.

They ain't cheap!!
They do open up an opportunity to acquire non-functioning units that have a bad cam for less $$$!:D

They will be readily available but theres a minimum order of five (5) (not 5 per person lol). Most likely they will not be black anodized in the future, not really sure as they were offered this way this time because the guy making them had other parts he was having done. But still a plain one is nice also.
I have a couple this time to put on ebay to to make a few extra dollars (hopefully) to support my SS habit lol but I dont see myself selling alot of them there. It would depend on how much is to be made after buying the cam, shipping, listing fees ect. I also have to pay for these up front.
I was also able to offer a couple ppl thru pm that showed interest b4 because I was sent a couple extras that I didnt order. The machinist said he alsways makes extras incase he damages any. So he sent me the extras on good faith. If your interestred in one of these black ones, let me know. You get it at cost, if you wait till I list it on ebay then you pay what ever the bid goes to.

I'm a new member of the forum and found this thread. Great info, are these Mark VII cams still available? I've picked up a Mark VII in great shape with a good speed cam but if I could upgrade to a metal cam, it'd be something I'd consider doing.
