Just wanted to post a photo of the new Lathe Chuck I just received.
This is the BarrAcuda CSC2000C. This is the model with the Tightening Levers vs the Key.
I am happy with it so far. The PSI Adapter works well but the little set screw was not well made. The hole for the 5/32 wrench was a little big and off center. This was not an issue as I have a bunch of Shopsmith extras on hand.

Cincinnati,
I'm sure many of us would be interested in your first impressions and current thoughts on this purchase. I have yet to bite the bullet and buy a chuck, but it is pretty high on my list of things to buy when I find some money. :D

I'm new to chucks and have nothing to compare it to. I am very happy with my purchase. Got to play with it on the shopsmith a few nights, Nothing negative to say about it.
The only question that keeps coming up is Tommy bars vs key. In the end it is a personal choice but I have no problem at all using the tommy bars. If the chucks were the same price I would get the key chuck but not for the extra $50. You and others may feel different.

I wanted one for years but did not know what one to pick. I just jumped in with this one because of price and all the jaws you get in one kit. Again, I'm happy with this.

Reible recently posted his experience with the PSI adapter set screw. He went to a 3 degree angle to the tapped hole. Check it out.
