I have to confess that I hadn't heard too much about Shopsmith before I was given one a couple of weeks ago.
A friend of mine had one that had been sitting around for a number of years that had been given to him but he had one already so he just stored.
Two weeks ago he started spring cleaning and needed more room in his garage. He called me and asked if I wanted it I could just come and get it.
He explained what it was and I jumped at it.
It's 1979 Mark V that's in ROUGH shape but not beyond repair. (the motor does run)
It came with some of it parts but all of it paper work including the packing list and payment receipt. Basically it's a project for projects.
I'm also new to wood working so the easier part for me will be getting it back into operating condition again.
I retired yesterday so I should have some extra time to put towards reconditioning this Mark V. Of course my wife a long list of honey-dos also.
It may come down flipping a coin at times to see what I get to do!;)
As I venture down this new creative path I may have some questions from time to time and hope this community will be tolorent of my inexpeirence.
Boy am I new!

Welcome to the forum Kenten. Good luck with that honey-do list. I have been retired for 5 years now and still haven't made a huge dent in it. It seems like every-time I get one task done, two more show up. The SS is a great machine, especially for someone with a small shop. A couple of good books to try to get usually on ebay under shopsmith search would be shopsmith power tool woodworking system which walks you through most of the features of the Shopsmith and Power Tool Woodworking for Everyone.
