Sorry for the delay in responding...I've been MIA for a while juggling work, kids and saw dust creation. Here are a couple pictures of the 10E I mounted to the wall as a dedicated drill press:

NICE wall mount, got to see this tread for the first time today, my ER dedicated/most of the time DP is like one in the pics, I cut the base support but not the tubes, I cant wall mount it but wanted a smaller foot print for the base and keep it mobile. I have a speed changer on that one and love it as a DP compared to a 500. You made the right choice IMHO!!!!

Good to have you back, dgale! I have both of your wall-mount drill press photos salted away in my "inspirations" folder. Mine will be going up this winter. Unfortunately it won't look as cool as yours, because my wall is sheathed in white pegboard. But I did figure out one improvement. By mounting the base a little higher up higher on the wall, I'll have room to park a 26" mobile tool-chest base underneath it, in the same footprint, and still keep the table at a comfortable level.
I got a great deal on a slightly damaged Amazon return, but a shop-made cabinet would also work great.

I like the idea of a storage cabinet underneath and may end up raising mine and doing the same when storage needs catch up with me. I stuck that little recycled kitchen cabinet up next to it for a short term fix but obviously not serving my needs very well. I've been planning on making a larger wall mount cabinet for storage next to it but underneath may work better and be an easier fix. I also need to get my speed changer mounted on that thing.

Either make a wonderful drill press. The 10ER has a greater speed range over the MK V if you have a speed changer for the 10ER. I have both. The MK V bench tubes are 18" cut offs from making a shorty. They are inserted in the base casting as far as they will go. The head stock and table are turned 180 degrees from normal. The front of the table is supported so no issue at all with mortising. Rock solid and you can stand on the table with no movement.

I have an ER on a shortened base, but not the tubes, sacred territory, for dedicated drill press, but the table does slip down sometimes with using a Fostner bit, should I get a slip collar on the tubes to hold the table in place??

That is what I would do.

Will do, thanks and the tubes cleaned up real nice today.

That is exactly what I do and couldn't be happier. They solve slippage problems.

That is what I would do.

The other thing to do is remove the table lock and dress the angled portion that contacts the way tube with a file to be flat again.
