Mike- I can push out a bit, maybe 1/8” no problem 1/4” might be a bit much.

The rest of setup looks normal?

JPG- you were right, I pushed collar back, didn’t get 1.125 but got it pretty close. Not sure how you could see that, many thanks.

Mike- you were right as well and I thank you as well. Pic below shows the workable solution.

I’m guessing no dado with this set up though I may make an insert.

Are you sure you don't have a 510 arbor there. The MK-VII should use a 500 arbor which is shorter. The dado arbor is completely different.

He has a M5/MVII /500 arbor.

Dado arbor = new ball game!

This is the end….my only friend…. Well a little Morrison always puts me in a good mood. I claim this VII did and done. I’m sure I will have some fine tuning and questions. Want to thank everyone for their support.

Without this forum is would still be just a bucket of rust.

WOW!!! Just wow. I don't typically read all of the Mark VII threads here. IF it wasn't for this forum, I wouldn't even know what one was since I started my journey on the Mark V. That machine looks incredible restored all by itself, but I have to say that it really pops when viewed in front of the Gladiator cabinets. Phenomenal job. Kudos. :D

Had 1st issues with the wheel setup. The Tinnerman clips gave way holding one of the casters to the shoe. I pushed it hard thinking I was stuck in a rut and the wheel mount bent as it was folding over. Anyway just posting to say this machine is so easy to work on bottom half. The ability to tilt each way allowed me to put one and at a time on a saw horse and slip it out to work on it. Brilliantly designed. Ended up taking Tinnermans out and using SS screams washers and nuts.

Interesting. I just replaced the tinnermans on my Mark VII headstock as some were missing. I Helicoiled the holes in the casting and installed 10-24 bolts. I did the three on the speed control at the same time. My casters just needed cleaning and lubricating so I don’t remember but there likely isn’t enough thickness to helicoil there.

Anyway if you need tinnermans, they can be robbed from the cast headstock.

Threaded pop rivets may be a tinnerman nut replacement.
