Cracks look as they did in my original photo. They're unchanged. The surface tension of the finish is too great to allow it to enter the narrow cracks. Plans are still to fill them after finishing with the CA glue. Knots will get filled with the 2 part epoxy and CA in those areas that the epoxy won't get into.

I saw a Dusey once (in Westlake, California) that had 33 coats of lacquer and the owner said he wasn't quite done.

OK, "Hilton" is carved into the front of the pipe. "Head" is carved on the other side. Put them together and you get a place in South Carolina.

It is a pipe that was carved during the Civil War by g-g grandfather. Carved from briarwood.

I noticed a pulley on this ER that I don't have on mine. Anyone know what it's for?

I'ts not standard, so it's some kind of custom application. Maybe using the ER's motor to power something else.

It covers up the extended end of the motor shaft!:rolleyes: Duh!:D Seriously: I just can't think of any other reason other than to provide a method to turn the shafts manually.:)
