The Hall Secretary was custom designed to fit in the entry hall area. The proportions are such that it is not too deep to be in the traffic pattern of the entry. The top opening lid was designed with a false shelf to hide ugly electronic chargers and convenient enough to access the top portion where the phones and electronics are kept. The false shelf area in the top also conceals a power strip with the cord concealed in a oak channel running down the inside of the door area so it:s hidden from view and finally the door area was designed tall enough to accommodate my wife"s purse, umbrella, etc. Eventually I am going to make a seat the attaches to the left side of the piece that has a top opening that will house other items, umbrellas, gloves, scarfs, etc. This seat area will be matching oak with mission style features that match the secretary.
My only regret is that i didn't incorporate a shelf or place to store and recharge my laptop. But I may still do that in the top lid section or add a shelf in the door area. Shouldn't be that hard. Will post pictures when I get it completed.
