Wait, you mean the maple blocks aren't stock? :)

Actually, I don't remember how that came about... I remember making the blocks so I could use the lathe, but I don't know why the original tool rest wasn't correct or why it wasn't working properly.

Russ, I'll watch the spring compression. I'm not sure I'll have reason to run this full tilt anyway, but it was nifty getting it to spin up to lickety split. I still have some fine tuning to do and switching from low range to high isn't very smooth yet, but this is really a very useful attachment. I...

The headstock pulley came, I probably still have a bit of fiddeling, but the speed changer seems to work very well. I've put the belts on for the high range, the first two photos show it cranked up till I could hear no pitch change, I stopped turning the adjustment knob immediately. You can see the ...

Thanks Russ, I do have the speed changer chart. I'll double check the alignments and belt tension when I install the new head-stock pulley, as well as adjust the speed indicator.

The belts and motor pulley came in this morning. I put the chipped head-stock pulley back on just to try it out. Everything worked very nicely, a bit of a vibration at the lowest speed, I suspect I'm not quite tensioned / pulley lined up yet, and I have not yet attached the speed changer to the shop...

is that not the correct pulley?
Thought for sure I'd find the set screw in my collection of nuts and bolts, but not so far.
