Afraid that will not munt to you SS. Rather than the mt2 mount you need the SS mount. I think the SS catalog has a pen turning mandrel??..Bill..

You will need a simple spindle adapter. I got mine here a few years ago. Converts the SS round spindle to a 1"X8. Then you can moiunt about any chuck. Many sizes avaliable. Cost me $16 + shipping.Bill

Don't think the tool rest as a holder would work well. But here is a link to a very sharp (pun intended) Canadian gentlemans site that is full of good lathe info and almost all homemade tools sharpening jigs and all kinds of other stuff...Enjoy it!...Bill...
