Go for the More Expensive Outlets -This is Why!

Be careful of cheep spec builder outlets. Most of them will only have one spring in each plug outlet. This will weaken over time and the plug will fall out. Or arc to the plug blade. Better outlets will have two springs on each outlet plug. This keeps the plug in tight and keeps arcing from hap...

Options Besides Vinyl Siding

I have seen many vinyl sidings shrink and allow water into a wall. Look at the HardiePlank by James Hardie. It is made of cement fiber. It holds up very well and does not shrink after a few years of sun. Also the price is in the ballpark. Easy to install with common tools. Just another though. ;)

Sawsmith 2000 parts

I purchased a used sawsmith about 6 months ago. It had the same broken part. I contacted Shopsmith with the part number listed in the manual(516461 - clamping hub ). They had a few left. It also was a metal replacement not plastic bakelite material. Also the manual that came with this Sawsmith did n...

Bigger Motor

Jim, I would look on ebay and craigs list in the areas that you live or nearest city(s). Also look in your local papers and short ad papers. Also check the restore if you have a Habitat for Humanity store in your area.:D In our area, lots of used woodworking equipment donated for the cause. Thrift s...

Hello everyone, Thanks for all of the replys. I found a new Delta T2-30 fence that I bought on ebay for 70.00. It was only the fence. I checked on the rails and tube from Delta parts. They want gold for them. The 50" tube is 189.00. The front rail 108.00 and the rear rail was 89.00. I could hav...

Which one should I choose?

I have two Mk Vs, one a 1986 510 that I got new and converted to a 520. It has a 1 1/8 hp motor and a non safety switch. The other one is a 1999 510 with the safety switch. I got it used but it hardly ever ran. They are both equiped with the same components and both work well along with being mainta...

Sawsmith 2000 Question

I found a great deal on Craigs list in Sacramento, Ca. The owner had a Sawsmith 2000 Ultra Model# 555598 in great shape. He sold the saw to me with everything but the fence. He kept the Excalibur fence and attached it to his older Jet tablesaw. He said he would entertain a new fence of some type for...

RE: Re: Old Shopsmith Tablesaw

Well I took the plunge tonight. I purchased this Sawsmith 2000. It had not been used much. It had the origional documents. It's build date was 081993. I looked it over for problems. The only two things were 1.) a broken angle adjustment lever lock. It is made from a bake-lite material. I will either...
