Sawsmith 2000 Question

I found a great deal on Craigs list in Sacramento, Ca. The owner had a Sawsmith 2000 Ultra Model# 555598 in great shape. He sold the saw to me with everything but the fence. He kept the Excalibur fence and attached it to his older Jet tablesaw. He said he would entertain a new fence of some type for the Sawsmith Excalibur fence. I am at a place where I need to ask other owners if the Excalibur fence is worth it? Or would you suggest another brand instead? If so, what and why?

Unless you want to maintain originality, go with another after market fence. I believe the Excalibur is out of production,so I would forgo it in favor of a Biesemeyer or Vega fence. I have a SS2k with the standard Shopsmith fence. It's just a larger version of the 510 fence. Works well,but would be nice to have a rip scale. I'll probably switch it over to a Biesemeyer, Jointech or Incra down the road.
