Shopsmith Mark VII? On Ebay

I found this so called Mark VII on an ebay listing. I've never seen one like this. Is this really a Shopsmith? Some of the components look familiar.

My carriage is a Mark V 500 series & the tool rest that came with it has the threaded tube. I tried to install it and it just drops down through the hole without engaging the teeth on the lift gear. The guy I bought it from said he never used the lathe. The lift gears work fine with the table.

I recently bought my 1st Mark V 500 (1960 Model I think). I am in the process of refurbishing it. There is some hardware on the carriage & table that doesn't seem to serve any purpose (see pictures).
