Re: Solid choice for a combo square
I have several of the PEC Tools squares. I have been well pleased with them. It is not how much it costs that determines the squareness. I own a lot of different squares; even the cheap plastic ones are perfectly square. My most frequently used squares are the PEC Tools 4R Double Squares. These live...

Re: Can this old tablesaw be retrofitted for safety?
You could make an insert with a splitter. Here is a video for making one.

Microjig makes splitters for this but they are very proud of them. You might also find someone who could print a 3D version for you.

Re: Quill handle spin
I much prefer ball ends. They fit my hand no matter what the position is. If I got the plastic handle off, I would thread the end and buy a ball knob to fit.

Re: Adjustable Stop Collars
The Adjustable Stop Collar is beneficial when doing non-through cuts like dados or rabbits. With the Adjustable Stop Colar it is much easier to fine tune the cutting height than using the Table Raising Crank and Lock on the Carriage. Once the cutting depth is set with the Adjustable Stop Collar rem...

Re: Adjustable Stop Collars
I would use one for the main table and one for the extension table to set them the same so I can return to the table saw and have everything set the same. I could probably do that with a regular stop collar.
Is the adjustment beneficial compared to a stop collar with no adjustment?

Re: Adjustable Stop Collars
I found the post I remembered and read between the lines. He was using for standard sop collars.
So what, if any, advantage is there to using two adjustable stop collars?
Shopsmth has these on sale as a pair.

Re: Adjustable Stop Collars
No, I have three. To rephrase the question: Are there things I can do better with four than I can with two? I considered getting one for the main table and one for the extension table. With four, I could put one on the front and one on the back of each. Seems that I remember some one here posting th...
