Using a drill chuck and a long brad point drill bit should work for alignment. Just make sure to compensate for bit point wobble(if any).

The later version of the 510 fence has two tapped holes to MISALIGN the fence. The fence alignment is properly accomplished by loosening the screws attaching the fence body to the part with the one/two tapped MISALIGNMENT holes['head']. The Mark VII wedge locks operate similarly to the current Mark V 5xx/7 vintage. Only difference from a Mark 5/ V 500 is the wing nut is replaced by the lever.
