I am guessing the shorter quill is from a Mark 2. A lower cost alternative to the Mark 5.

I am confused! The spacer was included with the Mark VII. Why not in SSInc Mark 5s?

Why is slotted a requirement? Hex(allen) 'head' would be easier to find. BTW what is the thread size? I suggest fastenal if not at ace....

Care must be exercised when tightening the set screws. The rotating mt2 ring is soft and the set screws easily deform it.
