Here's an older thread on other ways to get variable speed, including my setup using a 12v trolling motor driving the aux shaft to get reversing, too.

MODERATOR - I noticed that shortly after my report the “mark forums read” link reappeared on the search results page and it worked as usual — until today, when it disappeared again and the bug returned. Please reinstate the “mark forums read” link on the search results page.

From the main forums page, when I tap Mark Forums Read sometimes a box pops up telling me to return to the previous page. I retracted the casters and put my 510 on blocks. If you need it to be portable, you could make a simple mobile platform like this |——| (top view) with lockable casters at the corners.

This trick is pretty common. Many forums prohibit editing a post after a short period of time (hours) to stop it.
