I believe there is warning not to use the velcro for sharpening. The heat generated will do damage to the hook-and-loops.

I've had the 24" extension for over 8 years and have never looked back. I love it!!!! It comes with a wooden removable stop block that is fully adjustable. The block has a 90 deg. face and a 45 deg face.

I have one also. I have never figured out why one stop block face is 90 deg and one 45 deg ...

Are any of the new abrasives compatible to the Shopsmith Belt Sander and Sanding Disks?


I would guess that there won't be. These abrasives are advertised to last up to 4 times longer, while the green ceramic sanding accessories already available for the disk and belt sander are stated to last 5 ...

I have used adjustable hole cutters like this even on 2 x 4's (clamp the piece to the table, cut half-way then flip the piece over). I think the max speed indicated is 500 RPM, but I have not had any problems running on Slow.

This option has lots of different diameters for future projects already ...
