Does anyone know if it is possible to lathe outside the shopsmith maybe with a freestanding tool rest? Dangerous I bet but possible?

Well after reading the previous reply and talking with my wife (she's got the brains), we came to realize that maybe I had this part! You see, my father-in-law let me pack up all his SS parts and use them. Sure enough both faceplates in the link above were packed neatly in the bottom of a well worn ...
