So if we need a belt, or pulley, we have to have the whole thing overhauled? I spent a lot of money (relatively) for a Mark 7 in 2013, and I have not had good service out of it. I eventually have had to replace every thing except the motor and the quill over the years. Each problem happened at ...

I have done both with a relief dado and a dado (less) cut and I don't experience any difference. I am using 3/4 and 1 inch Baltic Birch as well as solid wood. The bit is a breeze. I usually use a router table (Mark VII/7) but I have done it with a handheld and guide.
