Re: 3D printed jointer Featherguard replacement part.
I used a Bambu X1, but I'm certain their less expensive PS1 and A1 would do the job equally well. The A1 mini might not be big enough.

Re: Lower bandsaw wheel bearing lack of resistance
Jumping back to the original question for a moment. You should consider spinning the bearing outer race on the shaft with the whole thing removed from the bandsaw. This might be a more reliable indicator of a free spinning bearing. I checked mine both ways, and the wheel gives it a lot of inertia t...

Re: Lower bandsaw wheel bearing lack of resistance
Is it difficult? If it has the water pump bearing it should be held in place with a retaining clip, #31 in the diagram. I haven't replaced a lower wheel on the bandsaw but it's the same design on the strip sander that I did replace the water pump bearing on. They don't have the bearing assembly ava...

Re: Lower bandsaw wheel bearing lack of resistance
[ I think your assumption is correct. A bearing that spins too freely is typically caused by the loss of grease. If it is a sealed bearing, which I think this is, that would mean the seal has failed. Personally, I don't replace bearings for this until there is some other failure symptom unless I al...

3D printed jointer Featherguard replacement part.
I have a damaged plastic Featherguard on my jointer. Rather than purchase an entre upgrade kit to get the one part, I modeled and printed a replacement. 20240827_110021.jpg I did not include the Shopsmith logo on publicly shared model files. The 3d models are here: https://www.printables.com/model/9...

Lower bandsaw wheel bearing lack of resistance
I have an older bandsaw and while there isn't any play that I can determine, the lower bearing spins suspiciously easily. I compared this today with a newer bandsaw, and the newer one has a slight drag to the bearing. The newer bearing has a smooth exterior, and the older has a circular "seam&q...

Re: Does ShopSmith repair PowerPro Control Modules?
After some web sleuthing it appears that "clicking noise' with Low Power error message is a known Teknatool issue. I've modified "UVTsdStp = 345" to 340 per Teknatool FAQ https://teknatool.freshdesk.com/helpdesk/attachments/19005420741 and I no longer get the Low Voltage error. Howeve...

Does ShopSmith repair PowerPro Control Modules?
My out of warranty PowerPro has developed an intermittent condition where I hear relays clicking and "Low Voltage" is displayed along with the expected display elemnets. I've verified 120VAC both before and after the power switch. I've measured the resistance of the switch (good). I discon...

Re: Grey SS scroll saw stroke/vibration reduction
Are you saying these parts might be interchangeable? I really don't love my old gray saw but this might change my mind if that is the case. Ed, yes, with one minor adjustment. The counterweight bearing shoulder (circled) is a larger diameter on the newer part and did not quite clear the bearing sea...

Grey SS scroll saw stroke/vibration reduction
A while back I noticed that the stroke length specification had changed from 1 3/32" to 7/8" inch when the Teal model was released. This is true for both SS-mounted and stand-alone versions. I also noted, anecdotally, that the people who had the Teal version described much less vibration t...
