So, as far as I know I have a model 500 (Greenie, 1956). I need to find a lower blade guard and I've been looking on a certain popular auction site. Will a guard for a 520 fit? Or any other of the 500 series???
Thanks!

I like this idea (below). Further, why not link the national sales tax rate directly to both the deficit and the budget? In other words, establish a percentage of the tax for paying down the deficit over time. Then, each year when Congress passes a budget, the IRS estimates the sales tax rate necess...

Heathicus I'm not trying to be some kind of a wise guy but on what do you base this statement? Do we really know the impact the Valdez had or do we know what environmentalist tell us? From what I was told the environment recovered immediately after the Valdez incident. Sure there was fish kills and...

When I have a lot of ripping to do I do it on my table saw on the main deck of the boat. If I wait until about 2:00 in the afternoon -- here on the San Francisco Bay -- I can often count on a 20 knot wind. So long as I make sure I'm upwind of the saw, it's about 100% efficient. The Shopsmith, howeve...

I got my Greenie with all the normal accessories plus a band saw, jointer, belt sander and jig saw for $225.00 a few weeks back (Craig's List). It didn't run, but I found a 1 1/8 HP motor on Ebay for just over $100 when shipping was included. It's now all together and running well, and I'm happy as ...

A few Greenie questions...
Hi! Well, the "new" 1956 Greenie is now fully painted and polished (pics soon). The replacement motor -- 1 1/8 HP -- arrived yesterday (an Ebay purchase) in excellent condition. Bright and shiny inside -- didn't even need to blow it out. The only downside is that the power lead coming out ...

Thanks for the replies everyone. Seems we are all thinking alike on this issue so far. I am so excited to see SS come out with such a major upgrade as the Power Pro and still maintain all the backwards compatibility. I think that is engineering at it's best! I'm so glad to have found this forum as ...
