Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but the blade should only be touching those bearings when you are actually cutting something. If Not cutting, the blade should NOT be riding on or even touching the bearing. If I understand correctly, said Sanding Belt should not touch the bearing as pressure ...

Re: Greenie Lubrication
I did say I would post photos. Sorry it's taken so long. (5 years! Really?) I have an A head stock and I don't have an inspection hole. I really don't want to drill or cut on my headstock. Re: Hand plane education
As a user of hand planes (Mostly Antique and Vintage). I find the most important thing is to ensure the plane is tuned properly and the blades sharpened. Tons of articles on the web on how to do that. Both tuning and sharpening. IMO Paul Sellers offers the most practical techniques and viewpoint on ...

Looking good heath.
I have to agree on the 2 beads on the goblet.
Remount it turn one bead off and create a captive ring on the other. and maybe make the stem a bit more slender or add some contour.

Re: Question for pen turners
A nice friction polish I just started using is "O.B.s Shine Juice" Look for it on Cap'n Eddie's videos or google "O.B.s shine juice". 1 part BLO 1 part Denatured Alcohol (DNA) 1 part Zinser Bullseye shellac (2 pound cut I think?) store in airtight container, mix thoroughly before...

Re: Question for pen turners

Keep in mind that the thicker it is the longer it takes to set/cure. The smell does not bother me personally. It does have an odor though, especially when fi...
