Re: Mark V double wide extension table

An inch wider than the Extension Table Upgrade part number 555085. Can you show a picture of the bottom side showing how they are mounted?

Re: Mark V for sale in the Portland, OR area

The Shopsmith Forum is not really the place to be selling your Shopsmith tools. Shopsmith provides this Forum to us free of charge to exchange information. They are in the business of selling tools, accessories and replacement parts, so selling used Shopsmith Tools is in competition with them. They ...

Re: Hello Shopsmith World

It sometimes takes a while to get one of these restored. When finally finished it is something that can be enjoyed for many, many years to come. I have had Shopsmith Model 10E serial number 1033 since May 2020 and still have not finished its restoration. One thing that can slow down a restoration be...

Re: Hello Shopsmith World

I am puzzled by your Lathe Drive shown in your picture below. Does your Lathe Drive have a threaded bore?

It looks like it is threaded onto a 5/8" Arbor. I cannot see if the Lathe Drive has a set screw.

Re: Hello Shopsmith World

That is a beautiful restoration job. As you said maybe good for another 70 years. Somethings from the earlier posts I thought about as I re-read this thread getting up to the current posts was how this Model 10ER ending up in Missouri. The second part is your last name Williams and did your family h...

The Mounting Tubes on all three SPT are custom made, not OEM. Depending on when each was made they would have either straight Mounting Tubes or if made later the standard eccentric tubes. The change to eccentric Mounting Tubes varied and the last to change was the Jig Saw.

Re: What am I doing wrong?

Sdwatt, I don't have a 500 at this time so I can't take any picture to show how it should look. From what I see in your picture of the Carriage it should be against the spacer on the Way Tube and the Spacer against the Headstock. That is a spacer designed to quickly and correctly position the Headst...

Re: Age of my “1956” Greenie

I have restored 2 Mark 5 Greenies and both had discoloration on the Motor Pan paint. The picture below is the second Greenie I restored and how it looked the day I picked it up. Although the Headstock Casting paint is gone the Motor Pan is discolored and no longer silver. The metal the paint is on a...

Re: Age of my “1956” Greenie

Serial Number 345662 would have it likely being made in May 1957. That is one of the months not having a starting serial number on the old production chart. See attached PDF below. _ Mark V Serial Numbers.pdf If there are only two holes on the Headstock casting and none in the Motor Pan to attach th...
