Re: Has anyone used Premium Casters without relocating brackets?
Good point. I forgot to mention that the four blocks of wood would not be permanently attached, but just slid under the legs while the machine was still raised to its maximum height, and then the machine lowered to rest on the blocks of wood.

Has anyone used Premium Casters without relocating brackets?
My Mark V 500 is usually rolled out onto the driveway for use, and the 1-1/2" ledge at the overhead door has always been an obstacle. I used to lift and lower the machine, one end at a time, but after that got old, I made a movable 4' long wood ramp that tapers from 1-1/2" to about 1/4&quo...

Re: Shopsmith 500 - Lower saw blade guard
Having the correct arbor for your machine is the first step. Shopsmith also offers an aluminum spacer to put between the guard and the cover, which increases the amount of space for the blade. I tried making a heavier duty version for my 500 lower guard, and discovered why to NOT try to make it wide...

Re: Help with non-Shopsmith Dust Collector Chute
That was too easy, apparently! A quick Google search for Dewalt Planer Parts confirms that it is indeed a dust hood and adaptor for a DW734 Type 1 12.5 inch planer.
Thanks wa2crk for helping me id it, so now I can try to find it a good home.

Help with non-Shopsmith Dust Collector Chute
This dust collection chute was included with a DC3300 I recently acquired. Only marking on it is "PG130001". 2.5" hose fits on end. There are plastic clips on the long narrow portion that make me think it may be specific to a connect to particular tool, a planer perhaps. Anyone have a...

Re: Heads Up - Bargain 'available'
In the San Diego, CA area, looks like a Mark 5 (or V) and a 10E or 10ER, both in need of a lot of work, but for free.

Re: Can a 12" Planer w/o feed motor be converted to manual feed?
I certainly hope that it works as well as it looks. You have done a fantastic job. I went back and reread this thread and I have to correct one of my previous comments. Fantastic is inadequate. You have done an unbelievably good job on this. Even the JB Weld application looks professional. Now, the...

Re: GE 1 1/8 motor hums, pops fuse.
Thanks to all for the timely and helpful advice. A little gentle re-forming of the thin copper piece, as well as a little persuasion on the heavier aluminum clips, did the trick. With the switch removed and while squeezing the contacts together and pulling 280 grit sandpaper between them also cleane...
