Familiarization with Mark V Model 520
It's been a while since I posted here, but now that I have moved my Shopsmith from the garage to a shed where I could work with it, just curious if there is anybody in the Hernando county area of Florida that could help me become more familiar with my machine. I received it from my brother just befo...

Shopsmith Mark V Model 520
Hello all, I am in Florida and I have a Shopsmith Mark V Model 520 that I have to get rid of. Not enough room. The headstock was rebuilt in March 2016 by Jacob Anderson. I have many attachments and parts for system. Much of it had been in storage and needs some TLC. Any recommendations for selling i...

Headstock rebuild
Probably a stupid question. I see lots of info on the SS forums concerning rebuilding a headstock. Can somebody with average mechanical skills rebuild a mid 1980's headstock on their own. Just curious. Thanks.

Re: Mark V Model 500 to 520 Upgrade
I am only able to run it down so far before it stops. There is plenty of thread left, but did not want to strip the bolt. Should I go ahead and run it down further? Thanks Jr.

Mark V Model 500 to 520 Upgrade
Just got around to doing the Mark V 500 to 520 upgrade on the machine I got from my brother after he passed, and I have a question. I am unable to lock the carriage from moving on the way tubes. Does anybody have any idea what I did wrong. Sat there for the longest time looking at it, taking it off ...

Re: Where To Start
Yes Bill, I am already reading the user manual and am looking at doing a general clean up of the unit. I will need to take a look for the serial number. I am assuming it is on the headstock somewhere. By the way I am in Brooksville, Fla. Looks like I have a challenge on my hands, but look forward to...

Where To Start
Help don't know where to start. I have been given my brothers ShopSmith Mark V with what looks to be all the bells and whistles. Band saw, jig saw, belt sander, jointer, standalone planer, etc. Also have a brand new 500 to 520 upgrade kit still in boxes. ShopSmith has been in storage for the last 5-...
