I checked with shopsmith, and they said it would work. I have one on order, but have to wait for a part to be made.
I am just getting started, but have done enough to know that the standard tool holder is rather awkward when you have to remove the blade often.

555272 scroll saw upgrade
I would like to know if others are using the upgraded tool holder, and if so does it hold the smallest blades.
I am using puzzle blades that are .008 thick by .010-.015.

Re: Scroll saw 555272 free standing.
Give em sufficient time before rattling their cage!
Lets see. Very thin blade. Operator pushes workpiece into the front of the blade. Wonder how the blade reacts to that? ;)
The reason for adjusting at the top of the stroke is that that is when the blade is furthest back.

Scroll saw 555272 free standing.
I bought a 555272 scroll saw and have ordered the manual but it is taking forever to get here. I have been using the saw but wondered if there are any maintenance things that I should tend to before using much more, like lubing, tensioning, adjustments, etc.
Anyone have any advice what to look for.

Re: Shopsmith scroll saw
I strongly recommend that you incorporate the quick disconnect upgrade. It will make a world of difference and especially so for inside cuts. I have the same model and love it.
They have two kits, one is with the newer style clamps only, and the other is with the tension quick release.

Shopsmith scroll saw
I just purchased a shopsmith free standing scroll saw, model 555275.
Just getting started I already can tell the blade clamps are a little awkward to use.
I was wondering if others have this model and are using the upgrade, and if so what they thought of it.
