Re: Snow Gauge
I use a 6" Popsicle stick by the tongue of my travel Trailer while I am wintering in Yuma AZ. Works great.

Re: Ships Ladder to Loft
Earlier I made reference to a similar ladder in my garage. Made the same way up to a 9' ceiling opening. It is 5' wide made out of 2X6's it is raised and lowered by a cheap harbor freight electric winch up in the attic. Works great. Brenda, My ladder is a compromise with a bigger tread and a steeper...

Re: Ships Ladder to Loft
The main reason is DUMB GRANDKIDS who don't listen. The reason for the width difference is the steepness of the run. It is 55 degrees, the treads are only 7" apart and going up they would have been fine, coming down, you would not normally come down a ladder facing down the ladder, you would tu...

Re: Ships Ladder to Loft
It is going to be permanently attached right there. I do have a large one like it in my garage that can be lifted up into the ceiling using an electric winch. That way it is out of the way 90% of the time.

Re: Table Saw Blades
Take a look at Irwin Marathon, I have been using them for years and prefer them over Forrest, freud and pretty much any other out there. I normally get the 40-80 tooth blades, they are half price of most of the Name brand. http://www.amazon.com/Tools-MARATHON-Carbide-Circular-14076/dp/B000089H9G?ie=...

Re: Want a heavy workbench?
5 or 6 years ago, I bought a solid 4" thick Hard Maple Food Preparation table on Craig's List for $50. It is 8' long and 36" wide, weight I would guess is 400 lbs + that is with no legs, the top was uneven due to opening 1000's of 1 Gallon cans of food on either end of the table where they...

Ya Menarnds is a Midwest thing, and going a bit south in the Ohio/Mississippi river valley States. I dont find a good selection of different manifactures of power tools at Lowes here, seems like HD and Menards does but some brands have loyalty rights, sell at one but not the other, I must say HD ha...
