Looks like I'm not out of the woods just yet. I counted my chickens too early. I finally mounted the motor and wired it up. When I turn it on, it spins right up. However, when I put the belt on it and turn it on, it just hums loudly.

Thanx to all who helped out. On my workbench, the motor is working w/o any issues.

Here's what I did.

Red(originally Red) aka "Start" connected to Relay Pin 2.
Yellow(originally White) aka "Common" connected to L1 and Relay Pin 5.
Green(originally Black) aka "Run" connected to L2 and Capacitor ...

As far as the actual picture colors, they match what I have. As far as the diagram, they do not. (Unless I'm going color blind or am seeing a golden dress when in reality it is blue ...

I have no problem opening up the motor to determine which wire is which. But I don't know what to look for. If I can find a definition of:

"Wire that goes to _____ is the _____."

That would greatly help me once I tear into it. Then I can troubleshoot.

Do these have a thermal switch?

I agree, I do believe I have a 3/4 HP GE motor based on other pictures I have found here.

However, the colors do not match at all. I only have 3 coming out and they are as described above: Red, Green and Yellow. I don't have a black or a brown.

To add to the confusion, the power cord is only 2 ...

I did some more homework and it appears that I have a 1960 model. That may help in understanding the wiring color scheme.
