The black triangular bracket at the lower left of your photo looks like SS part number 504083. I knew it looked familiar, but it took a quick search of my shop to pinpoint it. It's item #11 in the pulley guard kit (505862) for Power Stands and such.

Thanks for the info. I know he had a planer both from receipts and from the fact that he made furniture from trees in his back yard. I'll have to research the guide a bit.

Thanks. Looking at pictures of these chucks I seem to be missing the rest of it. :( Guess that happens when things are moved multiple times.

Thanks for that info. This ShopSmith was moved twice by people that know even less about woodworking than me. I've always wanted to get into woodworking but was scared off by the high cost of entry.

I have all the receipts from everything my grandfather ever bought for this. Along the way a dust ...
