Which drive hub
I've sold my speed reducer and forgot to include the drive hub. Problem is, idk which one is the correct drive hub for the speed reducer. I've got 3 different hubs. 1 has a closed end with 4 grooves, 90° apart. Another is open all the way through and has 5 grooves. The 3rd one is longer than the oth...

Re: WTB speed reducer
If you can be patient, one may turn up. I got lucky and found one on Craigslist for $50 a few years ago. If you set up alerts for what you are interested in, and in cities as far as you are willing to travel or where you have friends or family who could help handle the shipping, some bargains are s...

Re: WTB speed reducer
Happy New Year. Sorry to be the bearer of bad newsbut they rarely come up on E Bay or Craigs list and when they do the asking price is up near the factory price with no warranty. I thought about selling mine when I upgraded to the Power Pro headstock but changed my mind when I realized that 35 RPM ...

Re: Experienced ss lathe users.
I've used my to turn a few Christmas ornaments and a couple bowls. I've had pretty good success but I've also run into the limitations I spoke of earlier. With patience, I was able to buy a nice speed reducer on eBay for $150. Which takes the minimum speed down to 100 RPM. That not only solves the ...

Experienced ss lathe users.
I've got a shopsmith 510 with double quill bearings. My question is how good canews the lathe be? I realize it isn't going to be a top of the line oneway but how much does that matter. Right now, I'm happy with the swing and hp. 2 things that I don't like are the light weight and a slow speed that i...

Reversing motor service provider
I'm hoping to find someone that would change the bearings and wire my motor for reverse for me (Mark V). I've read the fine tutorial and have concluded that it would probably be best to let someone more experienced do this for me
Any suggestions? Thanks in advance
