Re: New Mark V Owner
The disk sanders all have the same 5/8" hole but the 500 version is shorter or if you wish the 510 version is longer. The issue come when using the lower guard/dust port. Once that is mounted then the 500 version stuff no longer works correctly. If you don't use the dust port then they fit fin...

Re: New Mark V Owner
Ok I see now that the arbor makes the disc sander work with the dust collection. I just don't understand how it's supposed to go onto the disk.

Re: New Mark V Owner
Can't say it enough, you guys are a huge asset. So I don't understand the previous Sanding disc arbor statements. The three discs seem to just slide right over the quill and remain in place via set screw. What am I missing? Second, I'm showing my ignorance but I have no idea what the following 4 ite...

Re: New Mark V Owner
Here are some of the accessories. IMG_1373.JPG IMG_1375.JPG The two arbors on the saw blades are for the 500. I threw them on and they are short. The other two blades have an arbor on there but it doesn't have the flat nut like the regular 500 arbors on the standard blades. I threw these on the quil...

Re: New Mark V Owner
So I have a Mark 5 with a 510 upgrade. I ordered a new Saw Arbor and blade and ordered one for a Model 500 which mine originally was. I wasn't aware that the table upgrade would change the arbor required. Is that in fact the case? If so, it looks like I may be waiting another few weeks before I can ...

Re: New Mark V Owner
I believe the quick way to see if there is a problem with the tube lengths would be to measure between the bolt holes where the accessory shelf goes. With the tubes fully seated correctly this measurement on a full sized SS is 54 inches. If the measurement is less, the bench tubes are not long enou...

Re: New Mark V Owner
You nailed it. I got them all taken apart and the way tubes were 52 3/4". Gonna clean them up and reinstall them as bench tubes. Thanks for all the tips!JPG wrote:I hope I am wrong, but am increasingly concerned the 'bench' tubes may in fact be 'way' tubes (i.e. 3/4" short).

Re: New Mark V Owner
JPG, I also took your advice and ordered a brand new arbor and saw blade. Saw blade was pretty expensive but seems to be of great quality. Can't reiterate enough how much I appreciate all the advice and help you guys are giving. I think I would have been operating it unsafely without it.
