Feather boards are the safest method to do the cut you want to do. The flexable fingers allow for slight width variations in the board you are cutting, whereas the other two methods do not.

Use feather boards only and never locate them much past the leading edge of the blade. Otherwise you are asking for a kickback to happen.

It must take a lot of hours to do something like that. Lots of accurate measuring and cutting, not counting the careful glue ups. You have a lot of talent sir.

if this is for a childs toy box - piano hinges are not the way to go.
you should use toy box hinges for safety.
