Re: Part Identification, Help A Newby Please

Dusty,

I did, in fact, take time to review the video link. I understand that the parts in question are related to a modern clamping system but original poster stated he had acquired a NOS Mark VII, not a Mark 7, which is an entirely different animal.

Re: Part Identification, Help A Newby Please

Can it be that you have actually acquired a NOS Mark VII? If it is an original 1960's era unit and not the newer Mark 7, you have something truly rare. Any chance you can share pictures of your find?

mark vii cover

DB5,
I know your message was not directed at me but what kind of cover do you have? Is it a headstock cover on the sheave side or is it a period cloth cover for the whole unit? Thanks.

Mark VII Score

Great to see some more postings about the elusive Mark VII! We merry few Mark VII owners need to encourage those who have not experienced the model's charms to take the leap. Anyone else out there have stories and /or pictures about their units? Any interesting mods? And am I the only one wondering ...

Mark VII plastic bits

JPG, I suspect you keep an eye on Ebay offerings for Mark VII components. Not sure which plastic elements you require, but there is currently listed a Mark VII inspection medallion if you are in. I find that it is usually one of the way tube end cap logos that is MIA, however. If you are lucky enoug...

If I remember correctly you are close to getting that sucker back together. I look forward to seeing the completion of the rarely restored Mark VII!

Original 1950's belt sander manual

I have been looking for an original 1950's band saw manual for my collection of period literature and have been unable to locate one. I have a contemporary manual purchased from ShopSmith Inc but it lacks the cool red, white and black color scheme of the other SPT manuals of that early era. I am beg...

SCollins, So nice of you to offer up some of your SS goodies. I have some broken casters on my mark VII and would love to be able to solve that problem-- Not a lot of spares out there. Cheers.
