First, what model do you have? My answer is based on a Mark V 500. I do recall on 500 tables that the nut may need to be loosened more to tilt one than the other. I never looked into whether that was from a misalignment. The 510 tables may be sticky one way for other reasons as DLB covered above.

I have a magnetic tray on the headstock of my drill press. Just one chuck key but I keep two hex keys on there and have a simple way to tell what the correct one is: It will be the second one I pick up every time.

I'd like to know more about how you made the one on the right. Did you spot the final form of that wishbone in a tree branch? I'm very impressed by woodworkers who have an eye for that sort of thing. After deleting cookies the old threads are available, but I'm no longer logged in. Once I log in can't see the old posts anymore. Will play with this more later.

And it just stopped again!

Deleted Shopsmith Forum cookies and it started working. No idea what was stopping it. I pulled up some old threads without problems not long that long ago.

Anybody else seeing this happen?
