How about building a 2-4" tall platform the size of the shopsmith base? You could then set the Shopsmith on it for lathe operations (making it taller than normal). When you are using the tablesaw or sander, you could take the Shopsmith off the platform and set the platform in front of the Mark ...

I imported the data to excel and did some reformatting with the original text file. I actually put the data in 2 worksheets, one for operations and one for RPM reference. What about cutting it into 2 pieces that are 4.25" wide? Then you can resaw it and glue it back together. It seems you are going to have at least one seam in the finished product anyway. I would expect these other seams would be very hard to see.

I use a Forrest blade as well. I am amazed how smooth the cut is. I'm not sure I would risk having the blade sharpened by anyone but Forrest.

Thanks for your suggestions. I removed the quill and carefully tightened the quill lock. After repeating the process several times, the quill play has now been eliminated.
