What? Nonono, PSI makes an adapter that's 5/8" smooth bore to 1" x 8tpi, which is the body thread of the Barracuda. I just meant that nobody makes chucks that go straight on the shopsmith spindle. Chucks, or anything ...

Thanks for the info. Yeah, you get what you pay for, but I can still buy decent standard sandpaper without paying proprietary prices for adhesive disks this way.

How easily does the paper come off when you use the 3M stuff? I was worried it'd be too strong.

Also, hey, I've got another question. I'm gonna be sharpening my chisels with the sanding disc, as well as doing a decent amount of shaping with it. I'd rather not lay down a bunch of money for adhesive-backed, 12" sanding discs (and it's hard to find in the ~320 to ~600 grit range).
