Oh, I agree 100%. I guess I was missing your point.SDSSmith wrote:I understand, we are not as arid as you as we might get 10 inches of rain a year. I would still try to keep the plastic out of direct sunlight.

I replaced my DC 3300 clamps with part number 5322K39 from McMaster Carr (mcmaster.com). They're only $2.81 apiece, but you must pay shipping. I considered buying a bunch and eBaying them to guys like you
but reconsidered.
FWIW, these are "quick opening" humongous hose clamps. They're not quite as user friendly to install as the SS clamp, but will NOT let go.

Went from Shopsmith wannabe to Shopsmith nut in 6 months. Started with a Mk V 510 and now have more SS stuff than anybody should.

Why do you say they are not user friendly?wh500special wrote:I replaced my DC 3300 clamps with part number 5322K39 from McMaster Carr (mcmaster.com). They're only $2.81 apiece, but you must pay shipping. I considered buying a bunch and eBaying them to guys like youbut reconsidered.

I don't find them quite quite as easy to put on as the factory clamp. I think because the are heavier they slip down more easily and cause me to drop the bag.
Once tightened though, that bag ain't coming out in one piece.
