I am in the stages of going through my SS and have found the table is extremely difficult to adjust the angle. After oiling with 3-in-1 oil the pivots with no change. I removed the table top. The back pivot was no problem, however the front pivot is very stiff. I have oiled and rotated the it back and forth. I applied heat in hopes to loose the gauge from upright, but to no avail. I do not want to use excessive and break something. I replaced the table and again tried rotating it.
If anyone is or near Portland OR, it would be great to connect.
I did find out that my saw arbor is 5/8" instead of the 1 1/4.
What do I need to do first as a new owner of a Greenie?

You might have lost me. I think you might have changed subjects from the jointer to the Main Table and now you have an issue with table tilt.
No oil. Wax only on ONLY the trunnion face. Avoid getting a lubricant on the surface used to secure the table tilt position. That would be kin to oiling your brake pads.
If you have a tough time tilting the table, I would suspect it to caused by the way the trunnions were secured to the main table. This Sawdust Session covers alignment of the main table and introduces a tip (no pun intended) that works well for completing the procedure without binding the table.
If table tilt is not the issue - this is not the answer.

The greenie table trunion has a pin at both the front and the rear. The front(protractor thingie) should slip off the pin the same as the bar in the back.
It sounds as if it is seized/galled/???. You must pull the pin out(of the protractor) to clean that up. Do NOT attempt to drive the pins out of the trunion bar.
Finally make sure the rear bar is installed correctly. It should fit flush to the bottom of the table. Tightening it upside down will break it. The 'nubbin' with he word 'top' on it faces AWAY from the tsble(visible after assembly).

Thanks for helping me with the problem and with my vocab with the SS. My table takes incedible force to tilt. The rear pin was no problem. But the front one is difficult. I can not remove the pin out of the protractor. I thought about trying to drive out the pin, but will continue to oil it and work it a bit back and forth and wait to see what happens.
I apolgize for skipping around in my post. My jointer is looking very nice. I have cleaned and waxed the infeed and out feed table.
I am now trying to loosen my table so that it pivots. The rear pivot is in good shape but the front where the miter guage is is so stiff that with the table removed I can not move it. That is what I an working on now. Thanks for your comments and help so far.

Frozen Joints
I find this happens quite often where aluminum and steel parts pivot/contact/slide together. I find the 501403 Stop Plunger (152) also seizes for the same reason. A screw for the Tit Indicator Plate must be removed to remove the Stop Plunger.

This is the product that the Shopsmith factory was using for headstock lubrication in 2008. I recommend doubling the amount of drops recommended by the factory to use on the control and floating sheaves.
