Accessory hub bore sizes?

Post by heathicus »

While digging through some stuff I recently picked up, I found an accessory hub. It is exactly like the regular accessory hub in outside diameter, grooves, etc., the bore size is 1/2" instead of 5/8".

Is this a Shopsmith item or something else? Does it go to an SPT that I don't have (which would be all of them except the bandsaw)?

Ah-ha. I had just assumed they were all 5/8". I looked at Power Couple page on the SS web site and it only listed a drive hub and accessory hub. It didn't say anything about different sizes of accessory hubs.

Interesting... Where are you seeing Pineville? I looked at several of the auctions and only see Atlanta.

That being said... our home address is Atlanta. But we deal with that Post Office as little as possible. Half the stuff we used to mail from the house disappeared and never made it to its destination (so we just don't send mail from the house anymore). Half our mail arrives destroyed. When we've complained, we just stopped getting mail for a couple weeks. Have you ever seen the Chevy Chase movie "Funny Farm?" (See here for a reminder: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6xP75qj3nTU.) I wish our mail carrier was that good.

For mailing small things like letters, Netflix movies, etc., I usually drop them in the box at the PO of another town I pass through on my way to work (I work in Natchitoches, LA). For shipping larger packages or items that can't just be dropped in a box, we usually go to Pineville to a place called "Goin' Postal." There, we can ship a box via USPS, FedEx, or UPS - which ever happens to be the cheapest (which has been FedEx lately). They weigh the box and let us choose the best option.
